Had watched parts of but never the entire Oscar winning film "Unforgiven" (1992) till last night.

I can see the point director and leading actor Clint Eastwood was trying to make in the film.

Production is good. Story is ok. Acting is ok.

The ending was very disappointing.

As in many Westerns, it's a final showdown in a bar. Between the good and the bad.

Yet the climax isn't even as good as the ending in the old Western "Shane" which is of course very difficult to be ever surpassed.

Still, Eastwood could and should have done it much better.
