Shortsighted people have no idea whatsoever when you talk about long term views or senarios, or past or future events.
They are puzzled and wonder why you bother to talk about things in distant future or past.
And to them 15 or 20 years either way from now is distant.
Myopia leads to ignorance.
Ignorance leads to myopia.
It's a vicious cycle.
