Mesmerizing Annie and Melanie, jealous Lydia, handsome Mitch, quiet Bodega Bay, early 60s, an era gone and missed. %%- Hongkong stock market is relatively liquid and properly supervised. Its index first hit 15,000 in 1997, followed by a 1-year 60% drop, a 2-year 100% gain, another 2-year 50% drop, and a 4-year 200% gain to 30,000, yesterday. Peak to peak, it took 10 years to double. There were minor wild swings in between, eg, a 20% drop in August this year, then a 50% gain in 2 months. Who can afford to lose 20% of one's asset in one month? Point? 1 Buy and Hold isn't ideal. 2 It's volatile. 2 Timing is important, but not necessarily easy. 4 Diversify your investment.
