A picture is worth 1000 words. If you buy/sell shares, do yourself a big favor. Take a look at LONG-TERM CHARTS of stocks and market indexes. You'd see how they've gone up, down or sideways in the past 3, 10, 25 or 100 years so you won't be cluelessly misled by your equally clueless brokers.
